 \large \textbf {Topic \: - \: Stomata}

-Epidermal of a leaf is not continuous at some places due to the presence of small pores, called stomata.

-Each stomata is bounded by a pair of specialized epidermal cells or two kidney shaped cells called guard cell.

-The concave side of these guard cells face each other and have a space forming stomatal opening.

-Guard cell are the only epidermal cells which contains Chloroplast, the rest being colour less.

-The stomata allows gaseous exchange to occur during photosynthesis and respiration.

-During transpiration too, water vapour also escapes through stomata.
