In the laboratory, H2 is usuallyprepared by the reaction of acids on metals such as zinc with Kipp's apparatus. The electrolysis of water is a simple method of producinghydrogen. ... Typically the cathode is made from platinum or another inert metal when producing hydrogen for storage.

Arin111: I wanted the reaction
chetubodkhe: Zn+H2SO4——> ZnSO4+H2
Zn+ 2HCl—–>ZnCl2+H2
Arin111: I got it
chetubodkhe: this may help you
chetubodkhe: ok

Hi,
I think that this reaction would help you

Zn+2HCl=(dilute)ZnCl2+H2
OR
Zn+(dilute)H2SO4=ZnSO4+H2

Hope it helps...
