1. It can cause inter- state disparities like that of maharashtra ,Andra Pradesh and Karnataka due to more concentration of water from koyna dan to maharashtra.

2. In a region due to lack of resource people may try to make out maximum utilisation from minimum resource which can cause overexploitation.
