Answer:

4900 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Planes starting altitude = 5000 feet

Planes altitude after descending 400 feet and ascending 300 feet =

(5000 - 400) + 300 = 4900 feet

Given :- LAD aero-Plane is 5000 feet above the sea level if it descends to 400 feet and ascends to 300 Peet .

To Find :- what is its new Positions ?

Solution :-

→ Initial LAD aero-Plane position above see level = 5000 feet

now,

→ LAD aero-Plane descends = 400 feet .

so,

→ Current position of LAD aero-Plane above see level now = 5000 - 400 = 4600 feet .

again,

→ LAD aero-Plane ascends = 300 feet .

therefore,

→ New position of LAD aero-Plane above see level now = 4600 + 300 = 4900 feet (Ans.)

Hence, New position of LAD aero-Plane is 4900 feet above see level .

Method 2) :-

→ Initial position above see level = 5000 feet .

→ Descends = 400 feet = (-400) { Descends means height is decreased so we take negative sign. }

→ Ascends = 300 feet .

then,

→ New position = 5000 + (-400) + 300 = 5300 - 400 = 4900 feet .
