ladder (AB) is placed against wall on floor at 37 degree from horizontal b. If end A is pulled horizontally with speed 2m/s then find downward velocity of end B​

Also the work done by Tension is zero

Hence ,

Sum of all work done by tension force will be zero

i.e . T1X1 + T2X2 .... + TnXn = 0

differentiating by time

We get T1V1 + T2V2 + .... TnVn = 0

As the velocity of A is horizontal direction we will take Tension in horizontal direction

so it will be Tcos37

For B it's velocity is in vertical direction so we will take Tension in vertical direction

so it will be Tcos53

Putting values in The Equation we get

2*(-Tcos37) + V(Tcos53) = 0 ----(Negative as direction is opposite)

VTcos53 = 2Tcos37

V =

v =  \frac{2 \times 4 \times 5}{5 \times 3 }  \\  v =  \frac{8}{3}  \frac{m}{s}
