Laila’s dead body lies at the bottom of a multistory building. It looks as though she committed suicide by jumping from one of the floors. Detective Andrew arrives at the scene, searches Laila’s apartment and looks for any eyewitnesses.
It’s found that Laila called an emergency rescue number moments before she jumped. Andrew gets a copy of the audio recording and hears Laila shouting, “HELP! HELP! HELP! Some are ……..Some are……Some are…. “
A letter found in the apartment shows Laila receiving constant death threats from her ex-boyfriend Zain Khan who claims that Laila betrayed her in the realm of love and won’t let Laila live with someone else.
Laila’s lawyer accuses Laila’s step brother Samar for the murder so that he can get away with all the property Laila inherited from their father.
Another suspect is Laila’s co-worker Basheer, an inspiring computer scientist, and a hardworking fellow. Laila was also found to be continuously black mailing Basheer with some private pictures.
An old mute women, a good acquaintance of Laila who lives in a nearby apartment is said to be present at her balcony when the incident took place. Upon inquiring the old women seemed unbothered and was busy grazing outside and tapping her fingers with breaks in between. 2-3-1-5-2-3-1-5-2-3-1-5-4-3-3-1-3-4-5-2-1-4-3-4-5-2-3-3 (it can be interpreted as 2 taps, break, 3 taps, break, 1 tap…and so on)
The security guard also claims that the CCTV system froze all of a sudden at the time of the incident and hence there was no record of who entered/left Laila’s apartment.
The very next day Andrew received a medal for cuffing the murderer. Who was the murderer and how did Andrew figured it out?
