Explanation:

__________________________________________________________

Through this lesson, the authors are getting the attention of the readers towards the small scale industry. They say that changing time has an effect on everything. Badlu is a businessman. He makes extremely attractive Lakh bangles. The woman of the village wear bangles made by him. Badlu is very irritated by glass bangles. He can't even hear good things about them!

__________________________________________________________

Comparing the woman of the city and the village, he says that the wrist of the city women is very weak/delicate, so, they don't wear bangles made of lac.

__________________________________________________________

When the writer was young, he often used to go to the village and always meet Badlu kaka. But due to his father's transfer, this regularity of going to the village decreased. It had actually stopped! After about 8-10 years, he (the narrator) visited his childhood village. (The reason why he visited the village was that one day, his daughter had slipped and hurt her wrist. As she was wearing glass bangles, the cut was deep. This incident reminded him of Badlu kaka.)

__________________________________________________________

When the narrator went to visit him(Badlu kaka), he noticed that Badlu wasn't able to identify him (as it had been a long time). He also noticed that he did not make any more lac bangles and was unwell.

__________________________________________________________

Once the narrator had introduced himself to Badlu kaka, they talked for a while. Badlu explained what changes had occurred after he left. He told that so many people had lost their jobs due to machines. He then made the narrator eat some mangoes. The narrator also noticed that kaka had sold his cow. The reason was that Badlu didn't have the money for his daily bread so he had to sell it.

__________________________________________________________

Later on, the narrator concluded that Badlu kaka's personality wasn't like a glass bangle, i.e, weak. It was very strong, just like a bangle made of lac.
