Lalaji stayed with the narrator, Jim Corbett for a week. While going from Muzzafarpur to Gaya, he became sick with cholera and his condition worsened. He lay on the banks of river Ganga. Then, author noticed him and took him to an empty house next to his Bungalow. After receiving treatment of one week by the narrator, Lalaji woke up and recited his story. Lalaji stayed for almost a week with the narrator. In his journey from Muzaffarpur to Gaya, Lalaji became sick because of cholera.

He lay near the banks of Ganga. Jim Corbett, the author, saw his pathetic condition and took him to a house near his home.

The narrator took care of him and Lalaji became healthy enough to woke up and share his story with him.
