Amount on bill inclusive of tax = 1450

Let the initial amount be 'x'

tax rate = 5%

x + 5%of x = 1450

x + x×5/100 = 1450

x + 0.05x = 1450

1.05x = 1450

x = 1450/1.05 =1381(Approx)


Discount allowed=8%

Net Amount

= 1381 - 8%discount

=1381 - 1381×8%

=1381 - 1381×8/100

=1381 - 110.48

= 1270.52

final amount with tax

= 1270.52 +5%

= 1270.52 + 1270.52×5%

=1270.52 + 1270.52×5/100

=1270.52 + 63.526

= 1334(Approx)
