In some areas, green revolution resulted in a decline in fertility of soil due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

• Continued use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides resulted in soil pollution and groundwater pollution.

• HYV seeds need a large amount of water for irrigation which resulted in a decline in groundwater level. Groundwater is drawn through electric tube-well for irrigation.

If we continued to harm it like the way we are doing now, that day is not far when we will not be able to grow anything on the land. Groundwater pollution will make us unable to drink the polluted water. So, we have to be careful in its use.
