Ownership of land has always been in speculation for years. Be it the 21st century or the 18th century. In the pre-colonial era, land ownership was characterized by factors such as the agriculture, handicrafts and the labor class.
It was quite simple- you own the land that you work on.
The laborers were granted ownership by their employers subject to their will and kind heartedness. The empires were built from the taxes collected by the kings. Every kingdom had a different set of rules with respect to taxes with an intention of peaceful co-existence.

From the past many years , the land system is not changed much , as regard to precolonial periods the own who want to buy the land just give the money and owned it . The farmers was used to hired some workers for their agricultural crop and animal raising and give them suitable money according to that .But every one in the country had to give respect to the rules and regulations including the taxes implied by the Kingdom to them
