Indeed land under cultivation cannot be increased

Explanation

because of the following reasons:

*Growing population is a major and serious problem.

*To meet the needs of growing population land for cultivation will be decreased.

*To feed ever-growing population intensive cultivation will be practised. overuse of fertilisers will increase the salinity of soil and decreases the nutrients present in the soil.

*There will be a shortage of food. so a country has to import food grains.

*There will be a decrease in raw materials for agro-based industries. so these industries have to import raw material. This will result in the high cost of food items.
