Landforms like mountains make it difficult to practice agriculture because of poor weather and soil condition ( less fertile soil).
These lands can be made useful in a variety of ways
- Terrace farming is done in mountain or hilly areas. In this terraces or steps are built on mountain slopes to carry out farming activities.
- By contract tree farming, plantation forestry, fruit trees based production system, sloping agricultural land technology, and agroforestry productivity of hilly and mountain areas can be enhanced
- there are many resources that we get from the farming such as natural medicine to treat disease, many minerals eg. iron, silver, gold, natural gas, coal, etc
- Mountains also act as good tourist centers. Constructing hotels, and making them official tourist places helps to increase the economy.
- Mountains are also rich in biodiversity. Different kinds of animal that lives on the tops of the mountain
- mountains are an important source of water. therre are many rivers originate from the mountain
