Answer:

Watersheds are worse than burning fossil fuels due to environmental reasons discussed below.

Explanation:

Watershed is a area where precipitation or rainfall is collected, and further drained into common drainage system. The drainage system can be lake, river etc.

Watersheds are considered harmful than burning of fossil fuel in power plants, because fossil fuels in power plants are burnt under restricted environment, keeping in mind the harm to the environment. Measures and precautions are taken to minimize the loss by the process.

While watershed are naturally occurring bodies, and loss by them cannot be contained. The losses are soil erosion, floods, sedimentation, landslides and water pollution.

Soil erosion by flow of water, causes loss of fertility of soil. This in turn renders soil useless for agriculture as well as growth of wild plants. Floods due to overflow of water not only harm population, but are also responsible for soil erosion.

Sedimentation is the settlement of soil particles at the bottom, high also renders soil infertile. Landslides due to flood, effect population, degrades quality of soil, makes the area not livable for animals too.

All these destruction are unavoidable and neither they can be prevented. Hence they are more harmful than burning of fossil fuels in power plant.
