Why was Fowler disappointed when he saw A usable??
Answers
Fowler was a writer. He made an appointment with a secret agent, Ausable. He hoped that a secret agent must be living in danger and espionage. Fowler had imagined many adventures that a secret agent might go through.
Fowler had visualized exciting figures in his imagination- The cracks of pistols, the drùgs in wine, black eyed beauties secretly slipping messages in hands of agent and many more. He thought a secret agent must have a well built figure, dressed properly with a cígar, executing defiled stunts.
But Fowler was disappointed when he saw Ausable. Fowler saw Ausable was an extremely fat man who didn't fit into his imagination. Despite of living in Paris for over 20 years, Ausable had an American accent and could hardly speak French or German. Instead of getting secret thrilling messages, he got only a normal telephone call for an appointment.
But Ausable had his wit which made him a perfect secret agent. Ausable could think quickly and calmly in the situation of panic.
However the time that Fowler had spent with Ausable in the public room was dull and boring.
