The Thief?
Last week I went to the market on bicycle to but some books. I parked the bicycle outside the shop. I was nervous about parking it there, since I had no lock for it.
I went inside the shop. Looked through the window at the cycle. How fine it looked! The blue colour mesmerized me. I hoped no one would take it.
I walked in one of the aisles. "Journey to the centre of the Earth" was the book I wanted. The fiction section.
The cycle stood still.
The next aisle. No luck finding it.
I walked out. The bicycle was insecure. I better not leave it open to theft. I went inside to ask the shopkeeper if I could bring it in for a while.
I heard footsteps outside. "Here it is!" Someone shouted.
I ran to hide inside the shop.
"He's there!"
They were coming. The noise of footsteps became louder. I hid behind a door. "Find that little brat!"
There was no escape for me. I had stolen the bicycle from a shop. They found me.
Took me away to my destiny.
The cycle lay still.
