Last week, you lost your luggage while travelling on holiday. Luckily, you have travel insurance. Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company. In your letter:
• Describe the characteristics of what you lost.
• Explain how you lost it.
• Tell the insurance company what you need from them. The letter should be between 150 and 200 words. You do not need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have recently lost a mobile phone during my holiday in Pondicherry and this item is insured. It was an Apple iPhone X which cost me approximately 75,000 rupees. Since I have insurance coverage for my mobile phone from your company, I am hoping to get my insurance money.

The incident occurred when I was on a holiday trip to Pondicherry between 26 May 2020 to 29 May 2020. I was on the Paradise beach on 28 August when I lost my mobile phone in the sand. I vigorously searched for the item for more than an hour but it was nowhere. I immediately lodged an FIR in the nearest police station and the FIR registration number is CH-25470145.

Since I hold insurance coverage for the mobile phone, I would like to claim the insurance amount for the lost phone. As per the policies of the insurance, I am liable to claim an amount of 62000 as an insurance refund for the lost item. Please find the invoice and the FIR copy for the lost mobile phone with this letter.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Sample Answer 2:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have lost my professional Canon camera during my trip to Perth and would like to claim my insurance for the lost item. I have availed your insurance service recently and my insurance number is 25478410.

I stayed in Perth with my family between 18th June and 24th June and I had clicked so many amazing pictures during this time. Luckily, I transferred all the pictures to my cloud storage. I clearly remember that we took our last photo at the entrance of the hotel and left for the airport. I wanted to capture the last moment of our journey so I was looking for my camera and unfortunately, I could not find it. I called the hotel staff to look for it where we took the last photo but he confirmed that he could not find it.

As per the travel insurance, I am entitled to receive the coverage of the lost item. It was a Canon UX-324 model camera which is hard to get due to its high demand. I would like to claim for the camera's original price as it was a fairly new camera. I would appreciate if you could transfer the money into my account.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Naaz Rihal
