Late Sheikh Zayed is considered one of the most important Emirate Knights because he was a visionary leader. He transformed a desert into today's UAE--the Land of Opportunities. He united seven small emirates and laid formation of UAE and thus he is known as father or founder of UAE.
He transformed UAE into a modern nation state without changing local traditions and values. He believed in education of both men and women. He worked for the poor as well.
He believed in the ability of women and gave them full rights. He gave his wife Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak a key role in his administration and supported her.
