Lateral inversion is the inversion of left-right side in the obtained image to that of object. Means that the left part of the object appears to be the right part of the image and vice-versa.
Lateral inversion takes place in Plane mirror as well as in spherical mirrors, as the plane mirror and convex mirror always forms virtual image and the concave mirror form virtual image when the object is placed between pole and principal focus . And every virtual image is erect and laterally inverted .
