Laterite soil contains iron oxide but is still acidic in nature. please clear the doubt and give the reason that how is it acidic.

Laterite soil is formed due to a process called laterization and this process takes place at high temp and high precipitation area so due to high temperature the moisture in soil in depleted and high precipitation causes excessive leaching and hence rendering the soil a bit acidic.
