He proved that the mass of the products in a chemical reaction isequal to the mass of the reactants. There are no more atoms at the end of the chemical reaction than there wereat the beginning. The Law of Conservation of Mass states that matter can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction.

HOPE IT HELPS..

hey here is your answer

According to Dalton's atomic theory, atoms can neither be created nor destroy. Bow since an atom van not be created or destroyed, therefore, the number of various types of atoms in the product of chemical reaction is the same as the number of all those atoms in the reactants will have the same mass . so the total mass of the product is equal to the total mass of reactants. the mass remains the same ( or conserved ) in a chemical reaction. And this is the law of conservation of mass . this explanation will become more clear from the following example of calcium carbonate.

calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is made up of 1 calcium atom , one carbon atom and 3 oxygen atoms. the product of its decomposition, calcium oxide (CaO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) taken together, also contain 1 calcium atom , 1 carbon atom and 3 oxygen atom . Now since the numbers if various types of atoms in the products ( CaO and CO2 ) and reactants (CaCO3) remains the same , therefore, the mass of products and reactants also remains the same in this reaction . there is no change in mass during the decomposition of calcium carbonate to form calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. the mass remains conserved .

hope this helps you to understand
