⏩According to law of reciprocal proportions when two elements combine separately with a fixed mass of a third element, then the ratio of their masses in which they do so is either same or some whole number multiple of the ratio in which they combine with each other.
↪️For e.g. carbon combines with oxygen and sulphur to form carbon dioxide and carbon disulphide respectively.
↪️CO2 has the ratio of its component as C: O=12:32=3:8
CS2 has the ratio C: S=12:64=3:16
3:8:: 3:16=2:1
