Lawn sand is a mixture of sharp and ammonium nitrate fertilizer. Gardner's sprinkle it into their lawn to improve drainage and to produce healty green grass. One manufacturer of Lawn and claims that their mixture is made from equal weights of sand and fertilizer .

If the particle size of sand and fertiliser are different then and are not dissolved in each other, then using filter would solve the problem. Then to compare the weight of each, take the weight of filtered element and the one not filtered and then we can find if weights of each is same or not
