\huge\textbf{Laws Of Refraction :}

1) The incident ray, refracted ray and the normal; at the point of incidence all lie in the small plane.

2) The ratio of sine of angle of incidence with sine of angle of refraction is always equal to relative refractive index of medium 2 with respect to medium 1.

i.e.

μ1 sin i = μ2 sin r

OR

sin i ÷ sin r = μ2 ÷ μ1

μ1 = medium in which incident ray.

μ2 = medium in which refracted ray.

we can easily understand the observations associated with the phenomenon of refraction of light in in terms of two rules state them as following :-------

★ A Ray of light bends toward the 'NORMAL' when it goes from an optically rarer medium to an optically denser medium.

★ A Ray of light bend away from the 'NORMAL' when it goes from an optically denser medium to an optically rarer medium.

(NOTE :--- BOTH OF THE ATTACHMENT REFERS TO THE 2 LAWS OF REFRACTION )
