The HCF of 25 and 65 is 5.

Given: The LCM of 25 and 65 is 325.

To Find: The HCF

Solution:

  •  We know that the product of HCF and LCM of any two numbers is equal to the product of the numbers themselves.

Hence,    LCM × HCF = N1 × N2                             ......(1)

 [where N1 and N2 are two numbers whose HCF and LCM are found]

Coming to the numerical, we can see that;

       N1 = 25, N2 = 65, LCM = 325

Putting respective values in (1), we get;

        LCM × HCF = N1 × N2

   ⇒  325 × HCF = 25 × 65

   ⇒ HCF = 1625 / 325

   ⇒ HCF = 5

Hence,  the HCF of 25 and 65 is 5.
