  • The other number is 18.

Given :–

  • L.C.M. (least common multiple) = 108.
  • H.C.F. (highest common factor) = 9.
  • One number = 54.

To Find :–

  • The other number.

Solution :–

Let,

The other number be x.

We know that,

L.C.M. × H.C.F. = Product of two numbers

We have,

  • L.C.M. = 108.
  • H.C.F. = 9.
  • One number = 54.

108 \times 9 = 54 \times x

972 = 54x

 \cancel \dfrac{972}{54}  = x

  \cancel\dfrac{486}{27}  = x

 \cancel \dfrac{162}{9}  = x

 \cancel \dfrac{54}{3}  = x

18 = x

So, the value of x is 18.

Hence,

The other number is 18.

Verification :–

We know that,

L.C.M. × H.C.F. = Product of two numbers

We have,

  • L.C.M. = 108.
  • H.C.F. = 9.
  • One number = 54.
  • The other number = 18.

108 \times 9 = 54 \times 18

972 = 972

Hence Verified !
