Given lcm of two prime numbers x and y is 187.

To Find :  value of 2(x-y)

Solution:

HCF of two  different prime numbers  is  1

LCM of two different prime numbers = their product

x*y = 187

187 = 1 * 187   not possible as 1 is not prime number

187 = 11 * 17

11 and 17 both are prime numbers

x = 11   and y = 17

=> 2(x - y)  = 2(11 - 17)  = - 12

x = 17 and y = 11

2(17 - 11)  =  12

value of 2(x-y)  = ± 12
