Lead oxide is amphoteric but phosphorous pentoxide is acidic in nature. Explain.

Phosphorus is a non metal. The nature of oxides depends upon the nature of the element forming oxides. Phosphorus being a nonmetal forms acidic oxides like P2O5. Non metallic oxides in water give acid. So, Phosphorous oxide is acidic in nature.
