Hence due to above reasons, lead pipes were banned in drinking water pipeline system . In the past, lead pipes were widely used for plumbing to cater to domestic water supply. The were malleable and could be bent and shaped at will. But, the use of lead pipes was withdrawn due to lead poisoning.
