Leaders Who Changed The World

For the world to be as great as it currently is, there were some leaders that put their lives forward so as to make the world a better place for everyone. This paper will be discussing some of the five key leaders in the world that contributed to the tangible changes that people are currently enjoying in the world. Some of those leaders that played a great role in changing the world to be a better place for everyone include Bill Gates, Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, and Karl Marx.

Bill Gates

Bill Gates is greatly remembered for his role in computerizing the world. As a matter of facts he was able to develop his first computer program while was still at high school, and he co-founded Microsoft in the year 1977, and by the year 1993, he had been rated as the richest man in the world. In the year 2000, Bill and his wife Melinda Gates established a foundation that is the biggest in the whole world.

Martin Luther King JR

Martin Luther King was a clergy and as a matter of facts was a minister who campaigned vehemently against the segregation of blacks in the Southern States of America. He was a great follower of Mahatma Gandhi and he got his inspiration from the works of Gandhi to fight injustices that were meted on blacks that hailed from the Southern States. Luther had a great belief in the peaceful protests just like Gandhi deed. In 1964, Martin Lurther King was honored by Nobel peace prize for his undying fight for the rights of the minority like the blacks in the United States. He was assassinated in 1968, but he is still remembered to date for the role he played in fighting against the segregation of black people in the United States of America.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela dedicated most of his youthful life and early adulthood in fighting against the apartheid policy in South Africa. The apartheid policy set the blacks and the whites in South Africa apart. As a matter of facts, black people were not allowed to vote in that country then. For that matter, he was arrested in 1964 due to his aggressive opposition to the South Africa’s government that promoted racism. He was arrested for 26 years and was discharged in 1990, was elected as the South Africa’s first black president and in the year 1993, he was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. Mandela is remembered for his championship for peace and a united country where people were not to be judged by the color of their skin.

Albert Einstein

The other great leader that also played a great role in changing the world is one Albert Einstein. He was one of the celebrated physicists and his name symbolizes the description of a genius. This was when one of his greatest works that was referred to as the Theory of Relativity was proven way back in the year 1919. Einstein was and is still the most celebrated scientist in the entire world and was able to win the Nobel Peace Prize for Physics in the year 1921. He was a strong believer in the pacifism; however his several scientific theories assisted his adopted country.

Mahatma Gandhi

When the story about leaders that contributed immensely in changing the world is being told, one cannot miss to mention the role that was played by Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi actually started his career as lawyer but later became a great spiritual and political leader. He was in the forefront in leading the civil disobedience by Indians against the British rule in India. Gandhi constantly negotiated with the British govern until India was granted independence in 1947.
