The first is fire,which can burn everything down.If the sun explodes,then the heat evolved would finally result in the destruction of the earth and the solar system.

The other is ice.It is discussed that if the sun gets too cold there will be a repetition of the ice age on the earth ,which too will end life on earth.

Since living beings cannot survive in conditions like extreme heat or extreme cold it will lead to the end of the mankind.Earth will end someday.So,in the poem it is discussed how the earth might end.
