Step-by-step explanation:

The mean (average) of a data set is found by adding all numbers in the data set and then dividing by the number of values in the set. The median is the middle value when a data set is ordered from least to greatest. The mode is the number that occurs most often in a data set.

Answer:

Learning Task 2

A. Calculate the mean, median and mode. (3 points each)

1.) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Answer:

mean= 1+2+3+4+5

             ------------     = 3

                    5

median= 3

Mode: Because each number appears the same number of times, there is no mode

2.) 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6

Answer:

mean=  2+3+4+5+6+6

            --------------------  = 4.33

                      6

median= 4+5

              ------ = 4.5

                 2

mode= 6       6 appears most frequently

3.) 6, 7, 5, 4, 5, 6 ,2, 5

Answer:

Sort from small to large

mean= 2+4+5+5+5+6+6+7

         -----------------------------  = 5

                        8

median= 5+5

             ------- = 5
