Culture, literature and media have created stereotypes for all categories, including children and women.

Stereotypes of children- Children often find themselves stuck in rigid compartments. They need to follow certain rules according to gender. For example, little men are dressed in blue, while pink has always been considered feminine. Similarly, females are not supposed to be strong while the other gender is not supposed to show their emotions.  Even toys are subject to stereotypes. Typically, females are given dolls and kitchen sets to play with, while the little men are supposed to be interested in cars and mechanical sets.

Stereotypes of women- It is extremely common to come across cases where women have been put into straight jackets. Women are supposed to take care of the kitchen and home front, with no role whatsoever in the economics of the household. In case of the modern working women, the expectations remain the same. They are expected to come back from work and handle all the household chores by themselves. Additionally,  stereotypical women are untiring and ever-smiling, with no stress build-up.
