THERE WERE THREE EVENTS THAT LEAD TO THE RESOLUTION OF THE STORY:
•The narrator's family spends all of their time outside in the sun, bathing in the river. They constantly seemed to be having a wonderful time and laughing contagiously, and other people joined in on their bonding, while the rich man stood by and watched.
•As the days went by, the rich man's family began to have difficulties. The children were frail, and the woman had a cough similar to that of the wealthy. The narrator's family, on the other hand, experienced the reverse consequence, becoming bright and healthy.
•A police officer knocked on the narrator's home one morning. They were accused of stealing the soul or essence of their food, and the rich guy filed a lawsuit against them.
