Given : 1. JP's age is twice the age of Reyna.The sum of their ages does not exceed 51.

2. Twice the sum of the number and 10 is 55.

3. Cut a 60 cm ribbon into two such that one part is one-third of the other.

4. The sum of two consecutive even integers is 162.

5. The sum of three consecutive integers is not more than 57.

6. Nine subtracted from the quotient of a number and three is twenty-one.

7. If seven is subtracted from six times a number, the result is atleast 10

8. The sum of 6 times a number and fifteen is no more than forty-two.

9. Five times the measure of an Angle is an cute angle.

10. The circumference of the circle with radius y is at most 25.

To Find :  the equation or inequality for each statement

Solution:

1. JP's age is twice the age of Reyna.The sum of their ages does not exceed 51.

  2x + x  ≤ 51

=> 3x ≤ 51

=> x ≤ 17

x  -  age of Reyna

2. Twice the sum of the number and 10 is 55.

2(x + 10)  = 55

3. Cut a 60 cm ribbon into two such that one part is one-third of the other.

X   + X/3  = 60

4. The sum of two consecutive even integers is 162.

x + x + 2 = 162

5. The sum of three consecutive integers is not more than 57.

x + x+ 1 + x + 2 ≤ 57

6. Nine subtracted from the quotient of a number and three is twenty-one.

x/3  - 9  = 21

7. If seven is subtracted from six times a number, the result is atleast 10

6x - 7  ≥  10

8. The sum of 6 times a number and fifteen is no more than forty-two.

6x + 15  ≤ 42

9. Five times the measure of an Angle is an cute angle.

5x <  90°

10. The circumference of the circle with radius y is at most 25.

2πy ≤ 25
