• Animal sexual reproduction:

In animal reproduction, the male reproductive cell i.e sperm and female reproductive cell i.e egg cells fuse together this process is known as fertilization and the fertilized egg that is produced after fertilization is known as a zygote. This zygote in its early stage of development becomes an embryo and then into a fetus.

• Plant sexual reproduction:

In plants, the first stage of sexual reproduction is pollination in which pollens containing male gametes are carried away by pollinating agents like wind, water, animals, etc to the stigma of the plant. After pollination male gametes in pollen enter into the ovum and fertilization starts. After fertilization zygote forms then after embryo and then fruit seeds.
