leather is also used to make garments then why is it not called a fibre

A FIBRE CAN'T BE DEFINED ONLY IN TERMS OF CLOTH ....THAT MEANS IT IS NOT NECCESSARY THAT FIBRE IS USED ONLY FOR CLOTH MAKING....FIBRE IS A thread or filament obtained from either plants or animals....like jute ,hair of sheep etc

fibre can be used for various purposes..........

leather has a different composition so CAN'T be considered as a fibre .......
