Leaves and green parts of a plant can only synthesise food . Why

Green plants have no coloring pigment except chrlorophyll. SO only color visible outside is green.  But there are some plants which have other coloring pigment(Red anthocyanin) in upper surface of leaf that masks the color of chlorophyll.In this way the plants that have other color can also do photosynthesis.[Exceptions: There are some leaves that have white lines on them. It is not due to above reasons but that particular area is not containing any chlorophyll. There are other plants that have chlorophyll are sometimes covered with wax also.]
