Leaves are called the food factory of the plant. How does the plant survive when it shed leaves in autumn?

now, answer is :During winter when water is frozen it can not be absorbed through the roots, but it is lost through the leaves. So plants drop them. During hot dry climates plants drop they leaves during the dry season for the same reason. :
