In the bryophyllum the leaves had leaf buds that develops adventitious roots. When these leafs falls on ground and comes in contact with soil then these plant grows from the leaf buds.Rose leaves doesnt have leaf buds as they can grow by the method called grafting thatswhy their leaves do not gave rise to produce new plants.
