  1. A bit (short for "binary digit") is the smallest unit of measurement used to quantify computer data. It contains a single binary value of 0 or 1. While a single bit can define a boolean value of True (1) or False (0), an individual bit has little other use.
  2. The octal numeral system, or oct for short, is the base-8 number system, and uses the digits 0 to 7. Octal numerals can be made from binary numerals by grouping consecutive binary digits into groups of three (starting from the right). For example, the binary representation for decimal 74 is 1001010.
  3. In the hexadecimal number system, the numbers are represented with base 16. It is also pronounced sometimes as 'hex'. Just like the binary number, octal number and decimal number whose base representation are 2, 8 and 10, respectively, the hexadecimal conversion is also possible which can be represented in a table.
