This is the third consecutive year of drought in Marathwada, each one more acute than the previous. The region normally receives around 780 millimeters of rainfall during monsoons. The number has dwindled to 259 this season. The IMD’s figures indicate an ominous 51% deficit. District officials have estimated in excess of 70% of the Kharif crops to be failed. Less than 10% water remains in 11 major reservoirs. More than 600 farmers here have already committed suicide this year. According to official records, almost 80% of the state is facing a drought. The scarcity, said experts, is beyond the normal deficiency in the last 20 years.
Maharashtra has recorded the highest death toll in 2015, a total of 3228 farmers have committed suicide this year.

This is the high time our farmers need our support, WittyFeed is the leading internet media companies in the world. Being the largest content company in India, we have been contributing our best for the welfare of the marginalized people in the country. So this is our one more initiative for the welfare of our farmers in Maharashtra. We should not forget that our farmers are the only contributors who are securing our existence. We are being fed because they grow for the nation. So, it's our responsibility to help them in need.

Wittyfeed has joined hands with Naam Foundation, founded by Shree Nana Patekar and colleagues. Naam foundation is doing great work for the farmers of Maharashtra. Mission of Naam foundation is to build sustainable and progressive society by facilitating development in rural areas by working on different issues like infrastructure, education, employment, food, and so on. India will be a superpower only if our villages and farmers get self sufficient and developed.

We (Wittyfeed) have started this campaign where we are asking for your support in terms of donation for our farmers in Maharashtra. As we have mentioned this is the high time our farmers need our support. Wittyfeed also believe that campaigning for a good cause is good but to make it worth on a grass root level you need to be a part of it too. So, Wittyfeed has pledged to match 10 % of the total contributions raised through this campaign.

The entire funds will be channeled through Naam foundation as this is one the most trusted foundations of the country and they have reach to the most of our farmers who are in genuine need of help.

I hope this will help you
