The plants which have legume or small spaces in their root where nitrogen fixing bacteria live. Plants need nitrogen to make amino acid which makes protein which makes cell which are important for growth. But plant are unable to use nitrogen in the air, so they absorb nitrate ions(NO3) from soil as a source of Nitrogen.
