We can get to know Lencho and his family had steadfast faith in god because:

1) They believed that god would send them money, when Lencho wrote a letter because the crops  got destroyed due to the rain.

2) When only 70 out of 100 pesos requested arrived, Lencho believed that God couldn't have had made the mistake and thought it was the post office people who had stolen his money.
