Lencho was a hardworking farmer who worked like an ox in his field. Once due to hailstorm his corn field got destroyed. Having strong faith in God, he wrote a letter to him asking for 100 pesos so that he could resow his field. His faith was so that when he an actual letter from God, he was not at all shocked. This shows that he had a great faith in God.

After seeing that the envelope had only 70 pesos in it, he wrote the second letter to God saying that the 30 pesos had been taken by the post office employees and he calls them a bunch of crooks.

The above to statements shows us that Lencho had faith in God but less faith in humanity

Answer: Lencho had child-like faith in god. He couldn't even imagine that humans would help him, as from his childhood he might have realised that people only know how to harm others, they do not know how to help others. His mental influence was that he could not believe that humanity still exists today. He believed that God wouldn't make such a big mistake, so he would give him what he had asked for. He believed that the people at the post office were a bunch of crooks and had stolen 30 pesos.

He had written a letter to god, telling him about his problems and his need for 100 pesos. He gave the letter to the post office. The postmaster was astonished but later became serious about the matter. He respected Lencho's faith in god and decided to help him. He, with the help of others, managed to collect 70 pesos for Lencho and signed the letter by the name of god as he had firm faith in God and the postmaster thought that his belief should not be shaken. He didn't want to crush his child like-faith in god.
