▪These lines have been taken from the prose piece '' A Letter to God '' written by the author G.L fuentus.
▪In this very story , we came to know about a farmer whose profession was to cultivate fields as he was a poor farmer. His house was at the crest of a low hill. It was a solitary house. Lencho's Family used to live there.
▪Once, There was no rainfall in his fields. The only thing , the earth needed was a down pour or atleast a shower. Lencho was upset for the reason that his fields are getting dry day by day as there was not a single drop of rainfall.
▪But after a few moments later, When Lencho was looking something at the sky in the northeast , he saw huge mountains of clouds approaching towards his fields.
▪After that, Just as Lencho had predicted, big drop of rains started to fall and the crops started quenching their thirst. Lencho became very excited and he even stood at the middle of the crop-field and he then compared the big drops of rains as ten-cent pieces while the smaller one's five. His boys also went out to collect the frozen pearls.
▪Few hours later , Lencho observed that the rain drops are getting transformed to hailstones which then continued to fall for an hour. It fell into the entire valley and as a result , his fields became sabotaged.
▪After seeing that particular scene, his soul was filled with sadness. He even said that ''Even a plague of locusts would have lefto more than this , but this hail left nothing. This year we shall have no food ''.
▪Lencho was then left with only one hope ''The help of God '', whose eyes as he has instructed see everything, even what is deep in one's conscience. Lencho had deep faith in God. He even wrote a letter to God regarding some 100 pesos which he need in order to remake his field again.
'' God , he wrote if you don't help me , My family and I would go hungry this year. I need atleast hundred pesos in order to sow my field again and to live until the crop comes ''
▪On the following Sunday , at daybreak , he decided to post his letter at the post office. He then put the letter to his envelope and wrote ''To God '' at the top of the envelope.
▪ His letter was read by one of the employees of the post office who became very surprised seeing this unique letter and he also laughed heartily. He then gave this letter to the postmaster , who was a very kind and amiable fellow. On seeing that letter, he also laughed heartily. But after a few moment, he turned serious and decided to keep Lencho's faith in God intact. But in order to keep his faith intact. He need something more than good will ''Ink and Paper'' .
▪The postmaster decided to help Lencho by donating him the most he could within those 100 pesos . He even took money from his employees , and several friends of his were decided to donate something to him as a part of charity. After a rigorous labour, the postmaster was able to collect only 70 pesos and send that very letter to Lencho along with those pesos with a signature '' God '' on the envelope.
▪On the next day , Lencho came a bit earlier to the post office to see if there was a letter for him with money. The postmaster kept on seeing the contentment of the farmer . The postmaster thought that Lencho would become happy after seeing the money . But it didn't came about so.
▪On opening the letter, Lencho become very angry because he saw only a little more than a half of what he actually demanded to God. As he had deep faith in God , he thought that God would have never denied Lencho what he asked for neither he would break his deep faith.
▪After that, he went towards the side of the window and sat on a desk and then he decided to write another letter to God .
He wrote '' God , of the money that I asked for only seventy pesos reached me . Send me the rest as I needed it very much. But don't send it to me through the post-office because the post-office employees are a ''BUNCH OF CROOKS ''
