Let the breadth be b

Length is 2b - 16

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2( l + b) = 100 cm

=> 2 ( 2b - 16 + b) = 100

=> 3b - 16 = 100/2

=> 3b - 16 = 50

=> 3b = 66

=> b = 22 cm

length = 2 x 22 - 16 = 44 - 16 = 28 cm

Hence, length = 28 cm and breadth = 22 cm

\underline{SOLUTION}

Let ,

Breadth = x cm

•°• Length = ( 2x - 16 ) cm

Given ,

Perimeter = 100 cm

=> 2 ( Length + Breadth ) = 100

=> 2 [ ( 2x - 16 ) + x ] = 100

=> 2 [ 2x - 16 + x ] = 100

=> 2 [ 3x - 16 ] = 100

=> 3x - 16 = \frac{100}{2}

=> 3x - 16 = 50

=> 3x = 50 + 16

=> 3x = 66

=> x = \frac{66}{3}

=> x = 22

•°• Breadth = x = 22 cm

Length = 2x - 16 = ( 2 × 22 - 16 ) cm

= ( 44 - 16 ) cm

= 28 cm

\underline{ANSWER}

\boxed{Length= 28 cm , Breadth = 22 cm}
