Answer:

let length and breadth be 5x and 4x respectively

4x = 36

that implies x = 36/4 = 9

length= 5x = 5× 9 = 45 m.

\sf\huge\bold{Solution}

Given

Width of the field is 36m

length and breadth are in the ratio 5:4

To Find

Length of the field

we have given length and breadth in the ratio 5:4 which can also be written as 5x and 4x respectively.

=>4x=36[given ]

=>x=36/4

=>x=9

Hence, breadth is 9 metre

Length is 5x =>5× 9=45 metres.

Extra shot =>

Field is in the shape of rectangle so ,area will be length × breadth

=>45 metres × 9 metres =405m²

we can also find its perimeter

=>2(length+breadth)

=>2(45+9)

=>2×54=>108cm
