Given :–

  • Length of a rectangular wire = 9 cm.
  • Breadth of a rectangular wire = 7 cm.
  • The wire is bent into a square.

To Find :–

  • Find the length of its side.

Solution :–

First we need to find the perimeter of a rectangular wire.

Perimeter of a rectangular wire = 2(l + b)

We have,

  • l = 9 cm.
  • b = 7 cm.

 \implies2(9cm + 7cm)

 \implies2(16 \: cm)

 \implies32 \: cm

Hence, the perimeter of a rectangular wire is 32 cm.

Now, we have to find the side of a square.

We know that,

Perimeter of a rectangle = Perimeter of a square.

Perimeter of a sqaure = 4 × side

 \implies32 \: cm = 4 \times side

 \implies \cancel \dfrac{32}{4} \: cm = side

 \implies8 \: cm = side

It means,

 \implies side = 8 \: cm

Hence,

The length of side of the square is 8 cm.
