=2(12+9)

let the side of squar be x
and we know that parimeter of square=4×side
42=4×x
42=4x
x=42/4
x=10.5 =side of square...

given the length and breadth of the rectangle is 12cm and 9cm respectively.

perimeter of the rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( 12 + 9 )

= 2 * 21

= 42cm

i.e perimeter of the square is also 42cm.

⇒ side * 4 = 42cm

⇒ side = 42/4

⇒ side = 10.5 cm

hence, the side of the square is 10.5 cm.
